Psalm 42 1 For the director of
music. A maskil of the Sons of Korah. As the deer pants for streams
of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. 2 My soul thirsts for
God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? 3 My tears have been
my food day and night, while men say to me all day long, "Where is your
God?" 4 These things I
remember as I pour out my soul: how I used to go with the multitude,
leading the procession to the house of God, with shouts of joy and
thanksgiving among the festive throng. 5 Why are you
downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him, my Savior and 6 my God. My soul is
downcast within me; therefore I will remember you from the land of the Dear God, my heart is downcast
within me for I am in great distress and deep distress and anguish of
soul. I have cried to You but You haven’t
answered and delivered me from my troubles. You
haven’t heard my cries nor answered my prayers. Yet I keep praising You for all
that You have done before. I trust in You and
put my hope in You. I will keep praying and not faint for You are
faithful and Your promises are ever true. O! Come soon and deliver me
and make me glad in You. 7 Deep calls to deep
in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept
over me. 8 By day the LORD
directs his love, at night his song is with me-- a prayer to the God of
my life. 9 I say to God my
Rock, "Why have you forgotten me? Why must I go about mourning,
oppressed by the enemy?" 10 My bones suffer
mortal agony as my foes taunt me, saying to me all day long, "Where is
your God?" 11 Why are you
downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God. Dear Lord, let not my soul be
downcast. Lift me up from the miry clay and the
pit of bitterness I am in. I will praise You
always. I will keep trusting in You at all times
and in all circumstances. Help me O! Lord.
22 Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you;
he will never let the righteous fall. Peter 5 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for
you. Dear Lord, I am discouraged. I am afraid. Nothing is going right with me. All my prayers are yet to be answered.
I trust in You and I believe Your promises, hear me when I
pray. I am waiting but I am downhearted and
discouraged. You have asked me to cast all my
cares and burdens on You. For You have promised
to take them up and deal with them in Your power and wisdom. Take them
all, Lord, and grant me relief and peace in my soul
and mind. Let Your Holy Spirit minister to me peace that passes all
human understanding and make me glad in You, even in this difficult and
impossible situation. I know You will hear my
cry.
8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed;
perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not
destroyed. 10 We always carry around in our body the death of
Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. 11 For we who are alive are always being given over to
death for Jesus' sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal
body. 12 So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work
in you. 13 It is written: "I believed; therefore I have
spoken." With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore
speak, 14 because we know that the one who raised the Lord
Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with
you in his presence. 15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that
is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to
the glory of God. 16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we
are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving
for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is
unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. Dear Lord, though I am in great
distress and am discouraged, it gives me hope in knowing that even the
apostle Paul and many saints had been in even worse situations. Help me Lord not to lose heart but trust in You who
sustained those who suffered before me. You helped them out. At times
You took them through their difficulties and distresses. Dear Lord, do the same for me. Do not delay for I am feeble and weak.
I have no strength to go on. Encourage
me and sustain me through Your Word and Your steadfast Spirit. Help me
to know and believe that my light and momentary troubles are achieving
for me an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. Philippians 4 4 Rejoice in the Lord
always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness
be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious
about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with
thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of
God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and
your minds in Christ Jesus. Dear God, Your Word commands me
to rejoice always. That means I am to rejoice in
spite of my present troubles and distress. In stead of being anxious
always, You have instructed me to keep on praying and tell You about
everything, giving You thanks. O! Holy Spirit,
help me to keep on praying and thanking God for all things so that I
will have no time to keep worrying! Lord, as I
keep on praying and thanking, please grant me peace and keep answering
me. Romans 8 31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God
is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up
for us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us
all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has
chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who
died--more than that, who was raised to life--is at the right hand of
God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall
trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or
sword? 36 As it is written: "For your sake we face death all
day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors
through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life,
neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any
powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all
creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in
Christ Jesus our Lord. Dear Lord, grant me the sure
conviction that NOTHING in all the world will
ever be able to separate me from Your Love to me, though my love may
fail! Father God, Your love for me was so great that You gave Your only
Son Jesus for me to die for my sins. Hence, I am
persuaded that You will not withhold anything that is good for me.
Thank You Lord. Psalm 23 1 A psalm of David. The LORD is my
shepherd, I shall not be in want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me
beside quiet waters, 3 he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of
righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow
of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your
staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my
enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days
of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Dear Lord, I thank You for You
alone are my good Shepherd who watches over me always. I
commit myself to You. Lead me through the right
paths. Even when I walk through the valley of
the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod
and your staff, they comfort me. Thank You for the assurance
“Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever” |
