1 Corinthians 10

12 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall!

13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

14 Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry.

Dear God, I thank You for Your warning to me that I ought to me careful always and never take any situation to sin lightly. Sometimes my temptations are so strong that I feel I am the only one so tempted and I give in. But I thank You for teaching me that everyone has similar temptations and mine is not anything different or hard that I cannot withstand it like others do. I thank You Lord, if I really trust You and look to You instead of looking at my temptation, You will make a way of escape.


Matthew 26

41 Jesus told, "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."

Help me O Lord, to watch and pray all the time so that I will not be tempted and fall into sin against You. As You have said, my body and mind are weak and I tend to give in to temptation easily. So help me Lord.

 

James 4

7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

8 Come near to God and he will come near to you.

Lord, help me to come near to You and draw strength from You to resist the devil. Make him flee from me.

 

2 Peter 3

17 Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position.

18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

 Dear Lord, help me to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ so that I will not be carried away by the errors of men.

 

1 Corinthians 6

18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.

19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;

20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

Dear Lord, You have bought me with the costly price of giving Your own life for me on the cross. Now I am Yours and You live in me. My body is Your temple – the place You stay. I must keep it clean, without sin and beautiful for You. Help me to hate sin and immorality in all froms, especially sexual and do not take any ‘questionable deeds’ lightly. It will destroy my life and my testimony as a Christian before the world. Let me not flirt with the opposite sex and indulge in any manner sexual sin or even any ‘unbecoming’ acts. It will eventually cause dishonour to me, my church and all Christians and above all my Lord Jesus Christ who died on the cross for my sins.

 

2 Timothy 2

19 Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness."

20 In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble.

21 If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.

22 Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Dear Lord, Your command is that everyone who confesses Your Name must turn away from wickedness. O! Lord, help me to turn away from all evil and keep confessing Your Name. Help me to cleanse myself from everything unholy and wicked so that I will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work. O! Holy Spirit, give me the strength always to flee from all evil desires and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

 

James 4

8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Dear Lord, help me to submit myself to You more and more. Make me come near to You for You will come near to me. Grant me the desire and strength of the Holy Spirit to wash my hands and purify my heart from every sin.. Let me not be double-minded (undecided), or feebleminded or foolish and fall into sin. Help me with singleness of purpose to seek Your holiness in my life.

 

Philippians 4

8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.

O! Lord, help me to occupy my mind and heart with whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—and everything that is excellent andpraiseworthy - and think about such things. Then, there will be no occasion for me to be indulging in tempting or sinful thoughts or actions.

 

Psalms 119

9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word.

Dear God, I cannot keep my way pure if I do not know what is right and what is wrong. The only way to know, is by reading Your Word again and again and meditating on it day and night. Then I will not turn from Your way, either to the left or to the right but walk straight in it. Give me a love for Your word and let me ‘make’ regular time to read it. I want to keep my way pure before You and others.

 

Psalm 1

1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.

2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.

3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.

5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

O! Lord, let me not be in the company of the evil doers, for they will lead me into sin. Grant me a deep love for Your Word so that it will be my delight to keep reading and enjoying it. Thank You for Your promise that ‘I shall then be like a strong, flourishing, and fruitful tree. Then, I will prosper in whatever I do!’

 

Joshua 1

8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

Dear Lord, it is Your command to keep reading Your law. Give me the courage and strength to be determined and disciplined to read Your Word continuously and carefully so that I will walk according to its precepts and avoid the world’s sinful ways. What a wonderful promise You have given me that You will be with me and You will give me success and prosperity.

 

2 Peter 2

9 The Lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while continuing their punishment.

How I thank You O! Lord for the promise to rescue me from trials and temptations. Do so, O! my God.

 

1 Thessalonians 5
21 Test everything. Hold on to the good.

22 Avoid every kind of evil.

23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

24 The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.

Dear Lord, when I am tempted, help me to resist the temptation by fleeing from it. Help me read, meditate and remember Your Word of caution, warning and instruction. Help me to respond to the Holy Spirit’s prompting and immediately turn away from temptations that I might not sin against You. I thank You Lord, for You are the one who sanctifies me and You are faithful to do it.

 

Psalm 139

23 O God, search me, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts.

24 See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

O! Lord truly, this is my prayer and heart’s desire. Do it Lord!

 

Jude 24

25 To God who is able to keep me from falling and to present me before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy--to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.
